The brand new mobile clinic (march 2010)

The Mobile clinic,

This is a project that was started by Erika, a Dutch nurse. Before February this year, her team used to hire two big Tata Sumo taxi's to go to remote villages every week.
Since February this  state of the art mobile clinic with A.C. goes to the villages.
The money to build this clinic was donated by Sabine, a Swiss friend. The money to run the clinic every day comes from sponsors in The Netherlands.

More than 1000 people come to the clinic every week. The nurses register all the patients and the doctor prescribes the medicines.  The pharmacist hands out the free medicine.
A driver and a manager do crowd control and help where its necessary.

The mobile clinic was officially inaugurated by the governer of Tamil Nadu.
Erika is one of my neighbors in the village of Vediapanur in South India where we live.
I support her and her projects whenever I can.
This is the view from 'our' village towards the 'holy mountain' ,Arunachala. The mountain represents a form of Shiva. It is a Swayambhu lingam or the column of light that represents consciousness.
All there is is consciousness, Ohm nama shivaya.

In the picture is a wedding invitation for the wedding of Satya, the daughter of my friend Sundaram Murti In the next post will be an article about this wedding with photos.
The clinic also comes to the AVS school in our village every two weeks. The school is sponsored by donors from Switzerland and Philips in Bangalore. In some of the next posts will be what all happened there this year.
