Promoting my book in Bangkok and Bodhgaya
These pictures are take at the inorguration of a memorial building for my late teacher in Bangkok.
I was asked to come and promote my book. The new building has several meditation halls and gardens. Some are exact copies of the teaching places in my old monastery in the south of Thailand. Buddha Dassa liked to teach outside in the forest next to a statue of The Buddha.
In the building is a very good bookshop and library. It is situated in a very big park near what is called 'the weekend market'. Part of the building is always open as a public spiritual place.
The monk in this picture at the right is the brother of Ajaan Po who is still the manager-abbot of the old suan Mok monastery in Chaya. He was very happy with my book and asked me to print it in Thai-language too.
In Bangkok are shops where one can buy Buddha's and everything for your own temple. As the Thai people like everything to be clean, they have wrapped the statues in cling foil.
